Christian Career Seminar Offers Hope for Those Impacted by Ford Layoffs

2006-01-24 — [WDC Newswire] — (January 24th, 2006) Major job cuts just announced by Ford Motor Company to trim up to 30 thosuand from its workforce and additional layoffs recently announced by other major car makers are causing many in the automotive industry and related fields to worry and wonder about their future. Employees are not only facing lay-offs but increased competition in finding new work in a job market that is so greatly impacted by the major car companies.
Career Counselor Nick Synko, Principal Partner of Synko Associates, LLC says job setbacks are really opportunities for career comebacks or transitions that can lead to more fulfilling and meaningful work. Synko is the founder of “Careers through Faith?, a faith based career-transition program that can help those seeking guidance concerning their professional future. Synko says many find that a job loss forces them to re-evaluate and take stock of what they really what to accomplish the rest of their life.

“Surveys show that the majority of Americans, including most Christians, are unhappy with their work and see their jobs merely as a source of income. Being forced out of work by plant closures or downsizing can serve as a great eye-opener and opportunity to connect with the evolution of who they really are,? Synko said.
CTF seminars, workshops, and materials now offer participants in Michigan and around the country career transition skills needed in today’s challenging employment market. Synko is encouraging those impacted by the many changes in the automotive industry to attend upcoming seminars scheduled for Saturday, January 28th and Saturday February 18th in the metro Detroit area. The cost for the four hour workshop is $95 and includes a continental breakfast and workshop materials. The half-day seminar is presented by Nick Synko and Professional Speaker, Media Consultant, and Syndicated Catholic talk-show host Teresa Tomeo. Participants will hear how and why Tomeo, a former long-time Detroit newscaster, refocused her priorities and made a life-changing career transition. Nick Synko will help participants learn:
• How to re-group after a job loss.
• How to discover or re-discover God given talents.
• How to improve networking skills.
• How to transition to a new job or entirely new career.
Synko says that by applying some basic career coaching skills, a job loss could turn out to be a big blessing in disguise.
